In an initiative to improve personal development and create an adaptive mindset in the work environment, Tower Bersama Group (TBIG) launched the Implementing the Growth Mindset for Personal Development program. The program is designed to support participants in adopting a growth mindset to face the challenges of a dynamic and ever-changing world of work.
In a session held at Graha Niaga Utama, Jakarta (13/12), TBIG invited Ivan Ahda, CEO of Maxima Impact Consulting. He shared insights and experiences on the importance of growth mindset in supporting personal and professional development.
With a background as an expert in leadership and social innovation, Ivan highlighted that a growth mindset is key to dealing with the ever-evolving dynamics of the working world. “Growth mindset is not only about how we see challenges, but also how we respond to learning opportunities and adapt to change,” Ivan said when opening the session.
In an interactive session, Ivan introduced James Clear’s Habit Loop as a guide to forming new habits that support growth and personal development. He also took participants through the Iceberg Model, which illustrates that visible behaviors stem from deeper thought patterns. Furthermore, participants were invited to reflect on daily challenges, such as accepting criticism, dealing with adversity, and managing bad habits, to build a more positive and productive approach.
“Every great habit starts with small consistent steps,” Ivan said, inviting participants to develop concrete steps through individual and group exercises.
In addition to discussing individual development, Ivan also highlighted the application of growth mindset in cross-generational collaboration in the workplace. “In a multigenerational workplace, it is important to understand the different values and motivations of each generation. With empathy and adaptive communication, we can create synergies that support mutual success,” he said.
Participants gained insights on how to communicate transparently, provide constructive feedback, and integrate innovation with senior experiences in the workplace. Ivan emphasized the importance of continuous learning to increase relevance amidst changing industry trends and needs.
