Bakrie University invited Maxima Impact Consulting to share perspectives on impact and sustainable business through a Sharing Session entitled “Measuring and Managing Impact: Making Sustainability as A Competitive Advantage” held at Bakrie Tower, 12/7. This activity was also attended by the Dean, Head of Study Program, and Lecturers of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences of Bakrie University, Bakrie Center Foundation (BCF), and Magister Management Students of Bakrie University who are practitioners in various private companies and BUMN.
Maxima presented Anggi Gayatri Setiawan, Head of Sustainability Learning & Advisory Maxima Impact Consulting to explain how the value of impact can be an added value for organizations to various program implementations.
“We believe that planned positive impact can accelerate an organization. This has been proven by various studies among sustainability activists that organizations that have a positive impact orientation not only benefit the beneficiaries, but also the company’s employees,” said Anggi.
In her presentation, Anggi also emphasized the importance of a strong understanding of the urgency of impact management. Through impact measurement and impact reporting, it enables organizations to objectively assess their contribution to society and the environment. She also explained case studies to provide practical insights and implementation strategies as a concrete guide for organizations to adopt impact management.
“This material is important because to achieve sustainability goals, we cannot do it unilaterally by the organization alone, but requires an understanding of the mindset, commitment and collaboration from various parties. This sharing session is an important milestone because it involves practitioners in educational institutions, non-profit organizations and companies,” Anggi added.
Studies show that good impact management can increase a company’s credibility and attract investors who care about environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria.
“Through this discussion, we invite you to understand the integration of ESG, impact, and sustainability and how these three things can be mutually sustainable. For then how the organization’s output can be measured after implementing impact in its strategy, impact measurement is needed,” he explained.
Through impact measurement, every impact effort can be described in numbers, so that the amount of impact generated by the presence of the organization or the implementation of the program can be concretely defined. On the other hand, by ensuring that the organization’s goals contain impact values, it will indirectly encourage the organization to take a systematic approach to impact management, thus helping organizations to identify, measure, and increase their positive contributions, while reducing negative risks.
With this collaboration, Bakrie University demonstrates its commitment to improving impact management and sustainability, while strengthening the company’s position as a leader in responsible and sustainable business practices.
